Exclusive interview with Janine Donovan
We are excited to announce a new Style Partnership with Take 5 Magazine.
Janine Donovan, Take 5’s Fashion & Beauty Editor – this week shows us how to style the season’s tunic top in four easy to follow, fun and different ways in an exclusive video just for you.
But before you watch the video get to know Janine a little more…
“In my role at Take 5 magazine it is my job to seek out and share with my reader the latest seasonal styles and easy, everyday looks that are both fashionable and affordable. I’ve been working with Take 5 since the magazine launched 18 years ago, so have literally grown up with the brand. During that time I’ve watched in awe the changing face of mainstream labels and their ability to delivery really stylish looks for a whole lot less.”
“Now at 45 years old, I love that brands like Millers have embraced the new ‘mature woman’ and cater for the fact that after 40 women still very much care about looking stylish and modern. They are very mindful of women’s lifestyles and the juggling act that is often attached to that. I’m very aware of this myself as a working mother so endeavour to reflect this on my pages.”
“To me ‘style’ is a very personal thing. I’ve looked at women in the past and thought, “wow, you look amazingly beautiful” even if their fashion sense doesn’t reflect mine. Style is about feeling confident in who you are, at whatever age.
“When I was younger I tended to follow trends more, it’s a path to discovery. As I’ve gotten older though and possibly having been in the fashion industry for a long time, I have found what suits me best and more importantly, what makes me feel most comfortable so I don’t stray too far away from that look. My best advice is to always be at ease in your outfit as this really shows in your confidence and general persona. These days, if I want to try a trend whether it be a new colour, print or style, I simply tweak my look by injecting one or two new items, but always stay true to my personal style.”
“I’d live in jeans every day of my life if it could, but I’d have to say my all-time favourite is a blazer. I can style them to look classic, modern or dressy or casual. I always feel my look is “finished” by adding that last layering piece. Plus they instantly dress up jeans, so I can get away with denim on more days!”
